Maquam Barn and Winery is one of our absolute favorite wedding venues! The open fields, the soft mountain views, the warm wood tones of the barn — everything about it invites a celebration that feels relaxed, welcoming, and full of heart.
The wedding that we are featuring today had all of the sunny, joyful, and effortlessly romantic vibes. Their palette of orange, blush, and buttery yellow brought the entire property to life — like a Vermont sunset woven through every floral detail.

We designed the florals to feel lush, textural, and garden-inspired, as if the arrangements had been gathered straight from a late-summer field.
Their recipe included some of our seasonal favorites:
Together, these blooms created arrangements that felt abundant but still refined, and colorful without ever overwhelming the natural beauty of the barn.

The ceremony took place outdoors under the patio, framed by a chuppah adorned with a lush corner installation. Instead of fully covering the structure, we designed a statement top-corner piece that cascaded organically downward. This asymmetrical style kept the design feeling modern and airy while still creating a strong focal point.
Clusters of dahlias and garden roses blended into wisps of stock and lisianthus, with warm orange and yellow tones melting into soft blush. The effect felt romantic, a little wild, and completely natural against the landscape. Aisle arrangements were placed on both sides of the ledge behind the arbor, providing good depth and visual interest.

Inside the barn, we carried that same warmth and ease into the reception design. For the rounds, we designed full, low centerpieces packed with texture and color. Surrounding each centerpiece were glowing votive candles, giving every table that cozy, candlelit warmth as the sun went down. To keep the long tables feeling relaxed and organic, we styled them with bud vase groupings instead of larger centerpieces. Mixed with scattered votives, the look was intimate, unfussy, and perfect for encouraging conversation across the table.
To draw the eye upward and fully embrace the height and character of the barn, we added one of our favorite design elements — a suspended greenery installation overhead. Maquam Barn’s exposed beams create the perfect canvas for something a little unexpected, so we designed a floating meadow of greenery that felt like it was growing right out of the rafters. Not only did it visually anchor the space, but it also helped create that cozy, intimate atmosphere once the candles were lit and the sun went down.

Everything about this day felt like summer at its best — warm colors, soft light, laughter drifting through the barn doors, and flowers that felt joyful and alive.
The orange, blush, and yellow palette brought such a fresh twist to classic romance. It proved that colorful weddings can still feel elevated, elegant, and timeless — especially when paired with thoughtful textures and natural design.
Maquam Barn will always be one of our favorite Vermont venues to design in, and this celebration was such a perfect example of how florals can enhance the setting without overpowering it. Planning your own wedding? We’d love to help bring your ideas to life!
